Back to Project ListUW Global Launch
UW Global Launch in London is a year-long academic and experiential opportunity designed for first-year UW students to prepare them for success as global citizens in today's interconnected world. The selected cohort, led by a UW professor, will engage in classroom learning, guest lecturers, guided visits around London and overnight excursions. While exploring British culture, students will complete core credit requirements and serve the community in which they will live through an international service learning component.

Impact Report
Scholarship
The Chris & Suzy (Oldorf) DeWolf Family UW Global Launch Scholarship was established in 2019 to provide first year undergraduates at UW-Madison a unique start to their undergraduate careers by spending their entire first-year of studies on the UW Global Launch in London Program.
Life-changing
- The creation of this scholarship by Chris & Suzy DeWolf enables more UW-Madison students to have life-changing experiences abroad. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to enriching the lives of students, allowing them to explore the world and their passions.
Legacy
- 21 students applied to the inaugural 2020-2021 program, which was cancelled due to COVID-19.
- 5 of those students who were accepted into the program and are enrolled at UW intend to use the funding towards a different study abroad experience during their UW-Madison career.
- 4 current first-year students were accepted to the Global Launch in London Spring Semester 2022, which is anchored by a service learning and community engagement project as well as coursework from local faculty and two faculty members from the UW-Madison Art Department.
- The full year-long program will launch in Fall 2022.
